When a new major version of KLS Backup is released or you install the app on a new PC, usually you want to continue with your existing settings and backup profiles.
There are multiple ways to migrate your settings and profiles to a new KLS Backup installation:
1. Use the Import Settings tool on a PC where you have a previous version of KLS Backup installed.
- Install KLS Backup.
- Open the Import Settings tool (File menu).
- Click Older versions. If detected correctly, your previous KLS Backup installation should be in the list.
- Select the items (settings and profiles) you want to include and click Import.
- Once the process is complete, restart KLS Backup and verify everything is migrated correctly.
- If necessary, you can uninstall your previous KLS Backup installation.
2. Use the Import\Export Settings tool to migrate settings and profiles from a different PC or previous version of KLS Backup.
- On your existing KLS Backup installation open the Export Settings tool (File menu).
- Select the items (settings and profiles) you want to include, specify the export file (zip) path and click Export.
- Install KLS Backup.
- Open the Import Settings tool (File menu).
- Click Import from File and locate the previously created export (zip) file.
- Select the items (settings and profiles) you want to include and click Import.
- Once the process is complete, restart KLS Backup and verify everything is migrated correctly.
